Migrate Campaigns Between Pro Accounts

suggested this on June 29, 2011, 11:25 AM

There have been a couple of similar requests to this however: I recently changed jobs and started a Pro trial on my personal moz account. While I may well keep this going I need to migrate a couple of campaigns from my personal account to a new general account that a number of people of people can view. So, can we have a migrate or export/import function for whole campaigns?

Would other people find this useful?

Hey guys, thank you for the feedback.  This is not on a confirmed roadmap or plan right now, though we do intend to support this use case in the future.  I will keep this thread updated. Thanks!

Dear Mozzers,

Also here from the Netherlands a welcome addition to MOZ if we could transfer existing data from one account to another. Especially when we started with MOZ at an agency and we have now an own account.

Sharing feedback on behalf of a customer:

The request I have is for a member of the Moz team to help users who
migrate from multiple accounts to single accounts move the existing
campaigns. Due to not having the ability to share logins, we have expanded
to 2 accounts and will likely have 3 accounts before the feature launches.
As a person who has extensive experience working with databases, this
change is likely very easy to be made manually. Each campaign is associated
with an account id. A person could simply change the account id and thereby
"move" the existing campaigns. There could be additional complexity that I
am not aware of, but a few minutes of a Mozzers time can help save many
hours migrating the existing campaigns and, more importantly, preserve the
campaign history.

Hi Jackie I've emailed you the direct contact information for this customer as well to maintain privacy. Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

We're working hard to come up with a solution for this, but it's a little ways out. Thanks for expanding on your needs, it's extremely helpful to the Product Team. We're in the preliminary stages in planning, and I'll make sure to pass this along your stories to the team that is working on it. We'll try to keep this forum updated.

Yes, agreed. Also a wish from me.

And there is another reason for this wish.

We have currently two 12-seat pro accounts. They are both contain all 12 possible campaigns. Now we want to migrate both of them to one 30-seat Pro account, which gives us 8 more campaigns for only $99.

But this is not possible. We will lose the history of one of them.

Also, some of my customers asked if they could log in to their campaign, in Read-Only mode. This is also not possible. ( We need to create our own Read-Only Dashboard using the API )

It looks like SEOmoz needs to review and redesign their User Model of the application. And while you're at it: Use OpenId/GoogleAccount/FacebookAccount to log in.

Transferability of Campaigns  would be an important feature for SEO consultants. It may also help to have an export/import tool for all data related to campaigns, if easier to implement.
