Rather than showing only natural ranking positions (excluding universal results) on the ranking overview page, offer three options:

SeoMoz team. I can say from first hand experience that Google is not making it easier for SEO Firms or small businesses like mine to rank on page 1. I need both organic vs. universal in order to be competitive. I use Link Assistant which is the only tool accurate within an acceptable margin of error. I just hate using it because it takes 3 hours to run a search on 180 words, plus its a memory hog. The first company that offers both organic vs. universal will dominate the SEO software market. SeoMoz is still one of the best. But in order to keep me, and what I suspect is a lot of other customers, is for SeoMoz priorities be aligned with your customer base. Thanks, Gus
Thanks again for the comments. This is still a priority on our backlog, but still lagging behind some other priorities focused on making overall rankings as reliable as possible.
@aaronfessler, the reason we started out tracking organic (non-universal) results was so that those focusing on improving their organic results would know where they stood. With a significant increase in blended and universal results showing up in Google, the need for separate focus on organic vs. universal is still valid, as different tactics help you for the different types of results. That said, I agree with you that we need to do a better job of showing universal and overall visibility in the SERPs, which are really important for reporting and understanding the actual impact of ranking positions.
@makegood, You should still see your results over time in your campiagns. If they are blended, they will show in regular results. If they are now in video blocks, they will show in the universal video blocks. Unfortunately, if they appear in video blocks, it's harder to see their position in the historical charts, as their position can only be found in a tooltip accessed from the video icon on the graph .

Yes exactly. Now that I have added a video snippets to a large portion of my search results, I am basically unable to track their rankings over time. It would be a fantastic tool if it worked for me!
As far as I am concerned, the Ranking Tool is unreliable otherwise. Why wouldn't you try to match the user's experience? They have no idea whether a SERP is organic or Universal.
I would be very keen to see this feature too. Please give us an update when you have one!
I agree with you. Unfortunately, we've had to spend more time than we would have liked over the past months focused on the reliability and resiliency of our current ranking system instead of new features. This is still and important feature we plan to work in, but I don't have an ETA for you yet. I apologize for how long this has taken.
It's time for the release .... past due actually
Big vote for #3. We want to know for our clients what their visibility is on Google. If they're "#1". but way below the fold because of local, image, etc - we need to be much more active and creative in optimization, instead of sitting back and being proud of ourselves that we've gotten them to "the top."
Agree with Orantec. Option #3 would be invaluable!
