suggested this on December 07, 2010 03:14 PM

Can we automate reporting for our SEOmoz campaigns so a PDF can be regularly delivered to defined email addresses?

I really hope that Moz no longer put their branding on exports for things such as Analytics as well as PDFs if you're pro Amber you are and what I thought was a professional and therefore you do not want to give Your client where you've gotten your information I hope this is understood is the higher memberships more expensive ones to have that option to delete the Moz or SEOmoz logo

In all honesty I really appreciated the PDF export Ability and believe that it should be able to be used by all pro members for all tools whatsoever. It is a huge the valuable tool for any marketer and I hope that you bring it back very quickly. There are very many other competitors such as Raven. Put a lot of thought into the presentation that they know clients will see I would like to see Moz do the same.

Hi

I keep seeing this in my reports:

"The competitive link analysis data is not available for this campaign at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Is this known and being fixed?

Thanks

The new custom reports will let you generate automated PDFs for campaigns with ranking change week over week, month over month, and quarter over quarter. We don't have a report showing change since the start of tracking yet, but that's a great suggestion. We'll look at that for a future update.

If you need any assistance getting the reports started, please contact help @ seomoz.org

Custom Historical Reporting for Ranking Checker

My clients want to know three things about their rankings:

1. What are our rankings this month?

2. How do those rankings compare to our rankings one month ago?

3. How do our current rankings compare to the rankings we had when we first hired you?

I need software that makes it easy for me to answer these questions. Right now, the only way for me to answer these questions using the SEOmoz Ranking Checker tool is to put all the data into an Excel spreadsheet, which is time consuming and seems so needless.

This will be great. One thing though which is a real issue for an agency is that our branded PDF reports have SEO MOZ at the bottom.

I'm sure you understand that agencies want to keep their source of tracking etc to themselves so is there any way to give an option to remove this co-branding rather then force us to snagit?

Hello all,

Unfortunately we're still working through some final issues with the automated PDF feature. It is now scheduled to launch in mid-November. I apologize for the delay, and appreciate your patience. We're just as excited to get this feature out as you are!

zeepartener, we are also working on a plan for PDF exports of the comparison page in OSE, but don't have the feature scheduled just yet. Hopefully we'll be able to add it by the end of the year.

Thanks again for your patience and your feedback!

Excellent suggestion about automated report and branding for clients.

Looks like SEOMoz took this as a suggestion to do just the opposite and put their own branding on every page, in addition to the SEOMoz logo up top.

You can use Photoshop to remove them so that you can preserve a white label feel.

Being able to export the OSE-Site comparisons in a pdf would be great too. That's a quick way to show a customer where he stands in comparison to his competitors (.xls is not so friendly for this..)

Hello all,

We've run into some issues in the last couple of weeks that have delayed this feature a bit. It is currently being tested and we working out a couple of remaining bugs. It will be available by the end of October for sure, but might be available as soon as two weeks from now. We apologize for the delay. We're really looking forward to shipping this feature!

Thank you all your patience and input.

Hi Paulcj2,

We plan to have traffic data as a part of PDF reporting sometime in late September. Thanks!

I love the .pdf reporting for all the sections that have it. But it's missing in the Traffic Data section. As this is one of the most important reports from the client's perspective, can this be added soon?

This is a must have for me with big collection of departments and sub-departments to service. Model email reporting on Google Analytics. In terms of monthly reporting frequency, go for something that returns near enough the same amount of days each time to avoid any distortion.

Hello everybody! We are working on some custom reporting features now and hope to have a version built in mid-September. I had a question I wanted to run past you all and get your feedback on.

Since much of our data is collected weekly, we can create monthly reports in one of two ways. First, we can show you reports only for data collected in that calendar month. This would mean that some months reports would show four weeks of data, sometimes they would show five weeks. Alternatively, we can deliver four weeks of data every four weeks, but you wouldn't receive it on a monthly basis, you'd receive it every four weeks, meaning you might get a report August 1st, then Aug 29th, then Sept 26th, then Oct 24th, etc.

I'm curious to know which way would be best for you all?

Yep - second this.

Please can it be automated CSV, Excel and PDF though to make it more functional.

Thanks!

Before I realized this forum was here, I put in a feature request through the contact form:

I know lots of the campaign tabs allow you to export individual reports. But what I would love, that would save me from having to manually download reports on a certain day every week and then find creative ways to paste them all together in a way that's easy for management to read, would be automatically generated reports.

The best-case scenario would be: each tool/campaign tab allows you to "add to weekly custom report," then there would be a Report Management screen where you rearrange the order of all active weekly custom report sections. It would be almost like GA's customizeable dashboards. Then, on the Report Management screen, you could select what email addresses should receive the PDF every week. Then run it and autosend to everyone selected. Voila, I, the web developer, no longer have to piece together reports, and I have a great way to justify the montly cost: "Look at the awesome reports we get with it! And I can customize them so you guys only have to see the parts you need."

Even better, if you could allow multiple reports, so that I as the web dev could choose to receive mostly crawl diagnostics, and they as the management could choose to receive mostly rankings reports, THAT is the coolest feature I could envision being added to SEOmoz.

Would love to get this feature. Right now its a bit annoying to print off every single PDF that a capmaign offers. So if we could get a bundled version or something similar, I'm sure we'd love SEOmoz even moar :)

Thank you, all, for the great suggestions!

White labeling should be in place by April. We are starting planning now for other reporting features, and while I don't have a date for them yet, I'll keep you all posted.

Please, if you have any other ideas or requests, add them in. They will help us as we plan and prioritize.

Best,

Adam

Any idea when these ideas are bing implemented? The branding issue is something everyone is banging on about.

Hello,

nice proposals but to complete this whole automated pdf, CI branded analysis stuff i would like to make another proposal: I´d like to have that CI branded pdf generating option also for the OSE. You cant´t send a csv to a customer even when it is rehashed.

Greetings

Ben

I'm happy to see this on top of the feature requests! :)

One more addition- Can we have the PDF reports customizable?

For example, right now if I export the overview I get Traffic, Crawl Diag, Rankings, and Link Analysis.  Most of my customers would prefer to see: Traffic, then traffic graphs, Rankings, then the keyword list with +/- (with sort options if possible- ascending, most improved, etc.).

Crawl and link analysis isn't important to the customer, just the resulting traffic/rankings from me taking action on that data. :)

The ability to have some sort of 'custom report builder' that we could use, would be another huge time-saver.

Thanks so much everyone!

-Kevin

I would revise the feature request title and say "Automated PDF and CSV Reporting" as some report data is useful in a crisp PDF file ... for some others I need the extended data and sort/filter/formula magic of XLS.

For me the auto-reports would remove the pain of going into the tool once each week to pull the data. What about the Holidays ;-) ?
